Where I'm contributing on battery transportation safety: Electrification Academy

I spent years looking for a resource like this, and now I'm part of building it.

I recently joined Electrification Academy as an independent Subject Matter Expert for Battery Transportation Safety, and I want to share a bit about why this particular platform felt like the right fit.

Early in my career, I spent a lot of time hunting for reliable technical guidance on battery transport and hazmat compliance. The information existed, but it was scattered, often vendor-influenced, and rarely easy to access without a paid engagement attached. A lot of people working in this space have felt the same way.

Compliance work only functions when the people doing it have access to accurate, unbiased information.

As the battery and electrification industry scales, there's a real risk that access to technical knowledge becomes concentrated and inaccessible. Electrification Academy is built on a different principle: the platform stays open access and independent. Engineers and technical decision-makers can come with real questions, explore vetted expertise and vendor solutions, and get oriented on what they actually need without having to buy something first.

That model matters to me.

The battery transport space is growing faster than the knowledge is spreading, and platforms that support open access to expertise are part of what keeps that growth healthy.
